Breast Cancer can be devastating and though there are certain genetic factors that cause this silent killer; experts are of the opinion that our food intake also impacts various forms of cancer. Here’s a list of 5 foods that are known to lower the risk of developing breast cancer:

1. Eggs
This protein-packed food, also provides you Choline which makes women reduce risk to breast cancer. This nutrient is essential for maintaining cell structure and function of all cells in our body. As per experts, women who consume eggs on a daily basis have the lowest risk of breast cancer as compared to the ones who don’t.

2. Walnuts

Walnuts contain Gamma Tocopherol – a vitamin that inhibits Akt which is an enzyme that aids survival of cancer cells. Moreover, walnuts are rich in Phytosterols that regulate estrogen levels and block Estrogen Receptors (ER), thereby slowing down the growth of breast cancer cells.
